Default Price increase

As some may have noticed, now some of the 30 min tutorials are 3 points.

We get charged more now so we have to charge more - there is no other reason.

Bandwidth is increasing as is our charges from the security / bank.

Sorry to make this happen but we have no choice

On a side note I still think £3 for a 30 min tut is pretty dam good!

Too right. I'm in the middle of a recorded web course related to work (totally non-Lightwave related) that's around 3 hours long. The course consists of almost exclusively a voice annotation to a bunch of powerpoint slides, and this has cost us somewhere in the region of US$175.

Makes the video tutes here seem even better value for money than they already are.

Default Tutorials

Hi Lads

I understand and have no problem with the tutorial prices.

The only point I would like to raise is the physical size of some tutotials. I think one of Peter's was 106MB (compressed) this is fine if you are downloading onto the destination machine.

If however you want to transport and you only have a floppy and zip drive the only option is to download - decompress and save across a couple of zips. This does not always work (in my experience).

I think Philip mentioned "the bosses" had given him a severe beating for going passed the magic 20 minutes on some of his tutorials (watch out Peter - they know where you live!!!!).

best

Kieth

Hi keef

We have taken into account many situation on the tutorials, the main issue is good quality and sound and with the great price of cd recorders and dvd recorders we have taken a chance of keeping the file sizes higher for the better quality tutorial.

Horses for courses I guess mate

Plus sometimes its very hard to limit a tutorial to 20 mins and also then we can have many many parts.

Hope you understand mate

Kev

Hi Kevin

I wasn't throwing a bobbly - just a comment. Thing is at work I am downloading the tutorials at about 360 kB/s (using T3). This is great but at home (broadband) the download speed is only 15 kB/s, so you see my predigament.

Still appreciate all of your efforts lads - and enjoy the tutorials.

best

Keith

PS Keep smiling Kevin

I'm using cable broadband and I'm getting them at 380kbs to 420kbs. What broadband provider are you using Keef? You seem to be getting boned big time if your only getting it at 15kbs.. OUCH!!

As for the Tutorial guys.. They offer great tips and really get you into using lightwave alot.. Keep up the good work guys.

I think he means KiloBytes per second rather than KiloBits per second.
