Default Breaking Free Hlp Hlp

Hello everyone! I need your help on a small project of mine. I would like to simulate the following:

Picture a heavy steel door (Military Base) that closes by sliding down vertically. Now with door close I have a character banging on the door. (as if he is trying to break free)

I would like to see the effects of the character banging on the door from the outside i.e indentations, dust particles etc" Eventually with enough baging, I would like for the door to tear open as in the xbox logo intro..

I thank you if you can help me with this..

If you could take me from door creation to simulate the banging on the door I would be greatly appreciative. You do not have to do a fancy door just the concept of how to get it done will do.

Modeling should be cake. Animating I would use Morph targets for each dent and the eventual door split. Toss in some particles for dust and your set. You just need enough polys in the model for the dents and split.

Default Smoke Effects

Thank you so much for that tip. Though I changed my mind.. I was using it for a flash transition, but it will take too long and I want things to be a little quicker..

Instead I decided to do a smoke effect.. Like how would I go about creating a sudden ball of smoke that then vanishes softly.. I know use the keyframes for the rapid smoke and soft fade, but How do I actually create the smoke effect.. ?

Thank you
