Dear all:
Can anyone tell me a way to create 'looped animated textures' in lightwave 7.5?

I wish to project an animation sequence (GIF or JPG) on the surface of a planar object, which by way, I plan to multiply hundrends of times using particles.

Load your image sequence in the image editor. On image type choose sequence. Set the frame rate and first frame and last frame. Post behavior set loop. Apply it to your surface.

Ya true, Unfortunatly I don't own lightwave yet im 16 & jobless so 1500$ is way out of my price range.
I work with it at my high school and it's spring break so I can't try it =( can u try it for me? =)

You can get Lightwave Demo version to play with for the summer.
Its exactly the same as Lightwave full version but you cant save an object layer with more than 200 points and it renders with a checkerboard watermark.

Demo version is free to.

I crave to go to school just to get on the only computer that has lightwave! I need to know where this demo is located.
Also I was told I qualified for education discount what is that? and does newtek do that?

Generally, you need to be able to prove that you're in fulltime education to get the student version of Lightwave. You'll need to speak to your local reseller to obtain details of how to prove you qualify for the educational license version.

As for the free discovery version, then you will probably need to contact Newtek. They used to have a page on their website where you could go to download the software, but that appears to have disappeared/moved.

Yup the only restrictions are that you can save 200 points in a layer and it watermarks your renders. Im gonna search some and see if I can find a link to the demo for ya.

Ok after a litle searching I found a couple solutions.

You can Download the Lightwave 7.5c update and install it. It should install Lightwave and run in demo mode. --->

You can also contact Newtek and ask for a Lightwave Discovery CD which is the demo. I would try method one first.

For restrictions I guess you can also not save scenes, its 400 points in a layer or object that you can save, and watermark. Not bad really though you can still learn and practice much with it.

Educational one is Complete and full version with no restrictions but.... you cannot sell any work you do with it otherwise you can be prosecuted. When I was going to school I bought an educational version for 395$ usd. As a super bonus when you own an educational version you can upgrade to a full licenced version for the price of a regular upgrade. So 395$ for educational version + 395$ or 495$ for an upgrade and bam you get a full licenced version.
