aye, aye, captain. I have just started making the dino today. i will post a screenshot in a few mins or so.
I've been working a lot for the past week so i have been tired to start the project. BTW i am changing the character from cartoony to something real looking. Couln't quite get the feel of it so i just used the outline of the poor beastie.

Here's a cutout screenshot from Modeler. Not sure about the color though might change it sooner or later.

A question for all you bone/weights experts.
I have made the weights and the bones. I have joined them in Layout in Bone properties. But when i move a bone it does not stay with the mesh. So can somebody tell me how to get the mesh to move with the bones? Thank you very mucho. Cheers!

I'm not sure about LW's joint tools, but I would recomend finishing the model before rigging it to move.

gday mate well i have learned that the simple way is to put the bones in the same layer as the model and if the bone names are the same as the weights that they are going to use then lightwave will automatically assign those weights to the bones and it will move and deform fine. (as long as the weight maps are right)
Otherwise if the bones resisde in a different layer you have to manually tell lightwave which maps each bone will use ect. but mickinleyis right finish the model first. Hope this helps. |

No i haven't made bones for my dino yet, i had a small little project that i was doing to learn how to keep the mesh with the bones.
