Default animating imported stuff?

hi all,
as one new to LW and animation (have the application about two weeks), please excuse me if my question sounds strange.

i was wondering if it is possible to import into LW various setting and character models purchased separately online, and from them animate a cartoon-like story of about 30 minutes length.

i feel this would be a very valuable way to illustrate and teach people, and could be accomplished quickly.

what do you all think?

how would i go about such a project? i'm really lost.

in fact, i have no yet received the learning materials Newtek promised with my purchase of LW.

can anyone point me to tutes, etc. that would guide me??
thanks in advance
