Angry Normal mapping problems :(

I'm currently working on the Normal mapping tutorial in the free training section of the tutorials.

I've a big problem here and can't seem to find out what the problem is.

I loaded the first and seconden layer, the first is the low poly model and the second is the high poly model.
When I add a UV map to the low poly model I get a lot of lose polygons but not the same 2 kinda model as shown in the video.

The second problem pops up when I've selected the first layer and the second one in background and than select the Normalmapcreate plugin, I select the UVmap at the low-res UV map popup and I used the setting 512 and 1024 for normal map resolution.
At low-res UV map popup I chosed serveral UV map's, even the one that arrives with the tutorial.

when I press OK Lightwave asks me to save an image, so I save it and then I get the following error: "No polygons to export".

Can someone help me with this ?
