Default Independent study

I have an independent study(for lightwave) next year and I have to plan out the course. This is my skill level right now(all the links). I need to find some books or tutorials to learn from. I have the mclaren videos now but i'll get those done over the summer. I think I might want to work on a photoreal person, are there any books out there for this? What do you suggest I learn? I would like to texture better.
