Default rendering objects with shadows ...but with alpha

hi all

I was wandering how you can create a render of an object with the shadows on the ground ...but everything else is transparent.

Is it possible?

Is this for compositing over a live background plate?

If so, then you need to look at using Front Projection Mapping as in this tutorial here: http://www.simplylightwave.com/movie...html?tut_id=10
