OK, I'm on board for this one. Got a few options. Don't know which I should go with.

skilled matter
frequent ground
circular literacy
fat toast

Any ideas of which is best?

It is all to do with how you perceive it - skilled matter and frequent ground are very abstract ideas so they will mean different things to different people. Fat Toast is a nice easy one and can be quite comical. Personally out of the ones you have I'd be going for circular literacy but only because it sparks an immediate concept picture in my head.

Oh yeh, and its nice to see you back again, Barking!

Just due to the comedy of it, I'm going for fat toast.

Concept:
a big ol' fat piece of Texas toast (butter dripping from him of course) half way out of the toaster, but obviously stuck. He's trying to push himself out, but there's no give. You can see the smoke coming from the toaster. He's in complete panic.

This will be a character, of course, not just a plain piece of toast.

I'll get some sketches here soon.
