Default helicopter blades not fully transparent

whats up all i hope you all had a great 4th of july weekend.

ok on to the issue.as you can see from the pic the trans map aplied to the helicopter blade object is working fine until the smoke renders in the background and then the tranparent part shows up ? the object is just a simple one poly square as you can see from the following pic

Try placing the blades in another layer and use a clip map for it instead of a transparency map. It will render faster too

the blades are in a seperate layer already and as far as the other thing i have no idea what a clip map is or how to make one .

In Layout, under Object Properties -> Render -> Clip map

it's just like a transparency map only better, cause it effectively "cuts" the transparent part of your object so you don't need to render it, saving you time.

Go to your Textures tab and copy the layers from your transparency channel and paste them to the clip map. Play around... you'll get there.

thanks alot. man that worked like a charm. just a note you have to have ray traced trans on for it to work. thanks again:bow:
