animation help
Hi
I want to animate my character (biped) and have closer ups of hand motions, up to face etc, hands round back of head. I am having problems with my rig, it does not perform very well with this kind of use. Its IK which I feel I can use, as FK would be too slow for me. Can anyone suggest any ideas as to the kind of set up I would need for this kind of rig. Thanks plumdust |

I think we need more info as the what ur rig is and what it is ur asking of it. I mean how many polys ur model? Also what exactly do u mean when u say it cant handle it?. Not realy that knowledgable in the field, but IK shouldnt be any more cpu intensive than FK, and neither of which are liekly to slow down ur pc. Slow down is almost certainly due to a high poly count.

Animation probs with arms
Hi Keelers
thanks for your reply. I mean that FK would be too many mouse movements for me as opposed to IK, I think I could work better with IK once I get the rig right. My character is sort of Wallace and Grommet type and I am looking to have more facial expressions and hand expressions as I am aiming at a young audience. I raelly need help getting a very stable IK rig together that focuses on Hand and arm gestures if possible. Also help with deformation of the shoulder joint. Basicly my rig jumps into some pretty awkward poses when I try to attempt my poses. I'm fairly new at this (just over a year) so I guess its teething troubles, but its very frustrating as I cant move forward until I get the rig right. If you need any more info I will be happy to supply. Thanks for your post plumdust |
