Default stormy Ocean tutorial

This is my first post here. I just wanted to show my take on the free stormy ocean Tutorial. All of Philip's tutorial are really easy to follow. I'm starting the Fishy rigging tutorials next.

Hi Toby:

Welcome to the forums! Nice rendition of the stormy ocean tutorial you have there - I never followed it myself and I can't remember ever seeing the end result of it, so thanks for posting it! It looks a lot better than the original still image from the tutorial.

Best of luck with the fishy tutorials - I certainly learned a lot from them.

An excellent start. Might I suggest pitching and rolling the camera to simulate the view at sea? (It looks like it was shot from a pier.) Also, I'd add more sub-division for the waves, since they seem too wide. Real waves in a sea storm are wide at the base and more narrow (wind-whipped) at the top. The lightning is a nice touch!
