Default P51 Mustang and Russian MiG

My friend Dave and I decided to model planes of the WW2 era. Dave modeled a 1936 Russian MiG, and did an excellent job on both modeling and texturing, and I did the P51 Mustang. Both done with LW and a little post effects done in Photoshop. Hope you like it.

looking good! I especially like the 3rd picture, its got a spectacular sense of climbing and hight- are you planning to take this project further and create a short.

I think it would be awesome if you had very cartoony looking figures in the cockpit, give it a nice contrast, but thats just because im a little biased towards cartoons haha

Very nice. Maybe a little more tonal work needed on the planes to key them to the backgrounds more, but overall superb pieces. Think the second pic is the most realistic looking one of them all.

Thanks Mark and Ave. Yes I am thinking about making a short animation with the plane, I just have a few things I need to get finished and started before I do. I'll post it when it's ready.
Thanks again.
Seem's like an image didn't get posted with the first bunch, I guess the message lenght was to long the first time....Oh well, here it is again.

Great work! I'm a big aviation fan and these are really good. Only one crit though. The rivits and lines between the body panels are a bit too pronounced. I've seen several Mustangs flying and up close on the ground and the contrast between the body parts and the rivits just aren't that noticeable. Excellent work otherwise!!

BTW - Try to catch a show called "DogFights". I believe it's on Discovery or The History Channel. Great animation and mostly done with LightWave.
