I've only started using NewTek LightWave 3D 9.6 as of recent because I want to gain as much knowledge with as many high end softwares which could be incorporated into film making, needless to say this is a tough one to break into.

I downloaded the Character Rigging video with hopes it being really informative as it was aimed at beginners but due to the poor microphone used, I've struggled hearing what the creater is actually saying and it really isn't aimed at beginners, to use this tutorial fluently you need to have an established idea of how to navigate LightWave. Felt like I was banging my head against the wall when the creater jumped from subject to subject without dwelling on the topic in hand. Would love to get to know this programme and develop my own projects as I've always loved the animation on the special features discs of movies like Jurassic Park and so on.

Could anyone point me in the right direction of a reliable source (as I've read atleast 10 posts sayin this forums going downhill) of free tutorials aimed at beginners book or website, I don't mind spending a bit of ££.

Any help, advice, suggestion all appreciated.

Josh

Hiya Josh,

And welcome to the site.

The site is hopefully being sorted now.

I would try the free section of the tutorials and try them all out i did then i kinda purchased every single tute ever posted here. Some of the tutes learnt me so much.

i did also bought all Dan Alban's tutes, courses and books, they are quite cheaper now, than when i got em (like 500 dollars the first 1).

plus this is a great site for tutorials

hope admin dont mind me posting it.

But this site is my main home, i check every day some times twice hoping for new tutes. David the site owner says now David mitchell is back there should be lots more tutes

I hope that helps
