Default Student need help

Hello, I was hoping to request a tutorial on how to make a computer keyboard and monitor in lightwave v.9.6

Doesn't have to be anything real fancy, but I would definitely appreciate it. I'm specifically concerned with how to make the keys.

If you can help, please respond asap. Thank you!

Didn't really say what it is to be used for, but I would Take a photo of a keyboard and load it into modeler as a backdrop and create a box and shape it to match the outline of the keyboard, then create boxes for the keys. once you have all the boxes matched up for the keys create a stencil of them. then, I would Extrude them all to give them depth and take tops of keys and shrink them to give the gaps you need and so on and so forth.
When you have a project like that first look at the object you intend to create and break it down into sections and discrete steps - what does the object looks like - a thin box, the keys - small cubes, etc. The monitor - same thing. Se primitive shapes in the object starting from large to smaller details.
Hope that helps a little

Thanks for the comment, but I think I need something like a video tutorial, I am completely new to lightwave. I know where to click on tools, but that's about the gist of it.

rwhunt99: I think that's some good advice you gave there I'd go about it the same way.

ww091979: If you're completely new to lw you can start by having a look at the tutorials on newtek's site to get an idea of what is where http://www.newtek.com/lightwave/tutorials.php

From there it depends a bit what you're looking for, I'm just going over all the content on this site and something like "Candlelit Scene" http://www.simplylightwave.com/movie...tml?tut_id=550

or pretty much most of the modeling tuts on this site
http://www.simplylightwave.com/movie...mhtml?cat_id=4
would give you enough practical knowledge to model what you want.

I know there's a few freebies kicking about on the net for keyboards, I believe they're in max which translates but if you're looking to get better with lw specific tools you're probably better off going with a software specific tutorial. But check out the free tuts on newtek and here and then go with something longer and just apply these techniques to your keyboard and monitor.
