Default Tabasco tutorial - how to set texture size in render

I did 'tabasco' tutorial with my own box/texture but I'm not satisfied with end result because of poor texture resolution. My texture is 30x19cm (300dpi) but the end result is no way close to that texture quality. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?

Image rendered in 1024x760, with radiosity, (low AA) than croped in photoshop.

i didnt even understand half the things you said....

i dont even know what radiocity is.

I would assume you have to go into the texture map and change the size?

no no, no need to mess with the texture, sounds like its resolution is high enough.

just move your camera closer to the object so you don't render empty space which you crop later. Up the AA to at least medium (turn adaptive OFF).

In the Global Illumination settings increase the RPE (Rays Per Evaluation); I'd suggest 4x12 and monte carlo turned on for this image.

Question great, but now I got another Q

ok, everything went fine, but...
as you can see my render now look much better (at least to me), but I have a problem with zooming in. I tried to do some close ups of the box-subject but I can't get closer than this or I'm getting 'inside' of the box. Ok, take a look at the screen shots to see what I'm talking about.

and thanks for the tips, again
