Default June Challenge Winners

June Challenge

Hey, first off I know most of you would not know who I am. I am the moderator for the challenges over at Simplymaya.com. I will be announcing the winner of the June challenge right now and I will be doing the same in the future. As of now I will be spending time in SLW as well looking at all of the challenges entries. The challenge for next month is going to be great! You will be able to sign up as of today and start right away! Ok there was no one who finished in the beginner / noobie category so there is only one winner this month. That winner is:

Buco

What a great model Buco! I would have to say that your model was incredibly close to Dae’s model but you took the award this month due to that slight edge, and your fabulous idea! Now that’s an extreme machine! As for Dae, that car model is incredibly good as well and I love the black paint shader. The tires could of used work but other than that, top notch! Is that an inifinity logo on the front? As for Zander, that is one great model and was also incredibly good! I haven’t realized how good of a program Lightwave must be until I came here and saw what you were all making. Anyways Zander, your model has quite a bit of detail in it, and it’s a cool mech design.. but I would have to say that if you went with something a bit less boxy you would have had better chances of winning this one, you most likely would of, so keep up the modeling and try hard to think of creative designs . DibyiosH, that is a great model you made as well! I love how you did the water effects on the top of the machine. Someone over at SM did the same approach and had a similar model. Work on that detail buddy and take it slow!

Alright, let me just end this with telling you that those 4 entries were very close and amazed me just how hard it is to judge. We (the mods) decided on the above info and I hope you all agree.

Now its july and that means there is going to be another monthly challenge starting today. So check it out later today and sign up . Ok, great job to all of you and hopefully we will see you in the next challenge.

Uao! Thanks (and tanks ) to everybody and welcome to M.
Hey Kvaalen, maybe you think that MOTM is Model Of The Month (that was 5 points) but M stands for Member (sorry M).
Thanx again, I'm happy :p

Ops, I've a question. I didn't see anymore in the contest rules that the winner has to upload scenes or models files but I'll be glad to do it anyway. My point is: my tank's tread is all geometry and it's saved as a separate object (14 Mb.. ugh!); plus I did five textures for the body (bump spec and a like) that are more than 3000*3000. Result: the scene folder is someting like 21 Mb and zipped is 9. Is it ok or maybe I should reduce texture res or something else? Thanx
