Poll what would you like to learn.
This poll is totally informal. I am just trying to get a barometer on the comunity in what you would like to learn. If you vote feel free to tell us why you choose what you did. If I have forgot a important subject for the vote or you would like to add something let me know and I will see about adding it to the vote.
I want to stress this is a personal vote not something that is specificaly setup to steer the tutorials on this site. But haveing said that if you vote and give your reason it gives a better look into what the members would like to learn about 3D and why. Which is valuable information when creating tutorials for the members

I voted for Surfaceing. Modeling is comeing very fast for me and I beleave I would like to try and learn more surfaceing techniques. There are some things that I havent really gotten into yet like uv maping or creating multiple specific surfaceing maps like bump spec diffuse for one surface to achieve a good photorealistic look.

I'm with you on the Surfacing, Johnny. I tend to "get-there-in-the-end" but I find it takes me too long. I'd appreciate advice on a more intuative - step by step approach.

Has to be surfacing here too. My modelling is coming along well (even though it still sucks), but I really do have a problem getting realistic surfaces on models.
I'm OK with relatively simple stuff, but if you look at some of the best surfaces around - just how the hell do these people manage to visualise these? The Ocean surfaces in Eki's plugpak for instance - there's almost 10 layers of spec and reflectance in there !!!! |

I'd like to learn more modeling, especially character based stuff. I'm getting better now, but i still seem to stuggle on more complex stuff.
I haven't even started with animation yet |

One of my personal bugbears has to be UV mapping. I don't think I've yet to see someone explain it in a way that I can understand and fully appreciate, especially when it comes to getting the thing into photoshop to paint all over it.
Modelling would also be an appreciated skill to learn more of. I don't think I could get enough of modelling tutorials; and like Rincewind, I would like to learn more organic modelling techniques. |

Count me in with Fallenswordsman in the vote for a step-by-step tutorial on UV mapping . Never really found a tutorial that explains it clear. There always seems to be some assumptions or missing steps that I, as a beginner, miss.

I'd love to learn as much as I can about all of them, but my vote went to Visual Effects, although Surfacing was about equal on my list. I'd also love to see some stuff on Dynamics, does Lightwave do that at all? I saw a Maya demo with some hard-body dynamics that just blew me away, so if Lightwave does that type of stuff, I'd love to see some training on it.
