Well, since everyone seems to be beavering away creating Stratocasters or other wierd and wonderful stringed instruments (MarkR), I thought I'd create something useful to actually show them off properly once complete.
Therefore, the guitar stand has now been uploaded to the Models section. You can find it under the Furniture heading (it seemed the closest one), or go straight to it here: http://www.simplylightwave.com/p.sht...=1;type=models |

The actual (real) stand's lower cradle is actually a separate piece that swings to comfortably cradle pretty much any shape (hey it used to have my Strat on it), although I've only modelled it as a single piece. The upper cradle moves up and down to accommodate any length of neck from a mandolin to a Bass guitar.
Since the stand is sloped, it doesn't need to actually hug the instrument. It's simply there to keep the instrument from falling over. |

Hey that's cool, you don't want to go laying a nice Strat around on the ground. That's abuse.

Thanks guys. There's one thing I've noticed about the stand I uploaded and that's not all polys have been subpatched. As soon as I hear from Kevin how I can get an updated Zip file up there, you'll have to remember to check it. (I'll update the version no. when the new file goes up).
Cheers, Mark. |
