Default Guitar stand for Fender tutorial

This is the stand that I happen to use so I decided to build my own. Good way to put some of the things I learned from the Strat tutorial into practice. Not that exciting but here it is. Just a few more bits and its finished and then back to texturing the Strat.

Cheers...

oh my god no... i hate to say this, but if that's your stand, you should return it. i also happen to play a strat that looks precisely like the one philip modeled. a good guitar stand never lets METAL touch the guitar. your stand has a circular plate against the back of the guitar. not good. i even go so far as to pull my shirt over the rivets in my blue jeans so i don't scratch the finish on the back.

you need a stand that holds the neck.

i can also see that there is nothing to prevent the guitar from falling left, right, or forwards.

Thanks for the concern Imhotep, but the render above was not finished. Heres the finished model untextured as yet. I have both types of stands but prefer this one. The rubber tubes protect the paint quite well and is very sturdy.

Cheers...

The bumper helps. No offense dude, but still, this is really a poor guitar stand design. I would never buy something like this to hold my $1300.00 strat. One hit from the side or the rear and it falls. I own a few Hercules stands. They have a gripping lock at the neck that actually suspends the guitar from the neck down. All metal surfaces are covered with a neoprene-like material.

Perhaps I will model one if I find the time.
