Default text tornado FX particles

hi all,
I am willing to construct a tornado animation where a tornado decompiles a word and make the separate letters fly away with the wind...
I used particle emitter for the tornado and wind. Is there some other method than FX link ? Do I have to watch first when is any particle in the right position and than link the letter with the particle with appropriate index ? Is there some simpler method ? Can I adjust when the letter links to particle or is it linked to that particle from its birth everytime ?
Cheers
