Default Little help on this head pleaz..

i tried to model a character aswell...
question:
what are these strange artifacts that i've marked, what is causing this problem, and most important, how can i solve this?
also:
how can i give the little fellow a little more expression? i don't want to go to far 'cause i want to let him be as "cartoony" as possible

help and comments are welcome!

The big problem is one of the weighting influence of the points.

If you check the wireframe, you will see that where the artefacts occur, there are more than four adjoining patch surfaces. This unfortunately causes that point to exert too much influence on the patches and hence the crease.

If you must have more (or less) than four patches sharing a point, try to work it so that they occur either in a flat area of the model, or one that will be sufficiently out of sight as to not matter.

In order to solve these in your case, you should be able to unweld the points in question (thus splitting apart the patches). Then move them out sufficiently so that you can then insert an extra quad inbetween them before re-welding.

I don't understand how to make the cuts like that, i run into the same problem all of the time with things i draw. i am assuming the cuts are made with the knife tool. i don't understand the steps it would take to fix that problem. I run into that problem when ever i am lowering the polygons. for example a hand could someone give some sugestions on how to do this correctly

Use the 'Translate a Web Page' feature. I dunno, but you might need to find a version of that page that has been uploaded to the web...
