Cool rig....and here I am still stuck with my trusty 5 year old CRT. Oh well, it still works I suppose even if it generates huge amounts of heat and is built like a brick. :headbang:
This wasn't about getting that third page was it |

Hi, i just bought Norton Internet Security, and when it is enabled in the system tray i cant open lightwave 8, it just freezes, but when i de-activate it it loads perfect and with no probs :headbang:
I think i might have selected or been in a bit of a rush when i opened it the 1st time after the instilation of norton and i feel i have put a block on it, how do i get into the setting and make modeller and layout free to open. Cheers  |

Yo, Fraser, the whole Nortons thing is what was wrong with my lightwave, remember!?
Open Nortons and under Status & Settings click Personal Firewall then click on Configure. Then click on the Programs tab. Then scroll down and change the Internet access to Permit All. Remember to do it to all the Lightwave programs though (Lightwave, Modeler and Hub). I assume that it's got something to do with the fact that there's separate programs running together. That should sort out yer problem!

You're one to talk about strategic positioning of stuff Fraser, with the three note pads perfectly aligned, the keyboard at precisely 90 degrees to everything else and the piece de resistance, the Fraser Davie Animations being clearly visible on the monitor!

Hi, im having problems with my rig, the arm is acting wierd. As i rotate the green handle, the blue 1 acts normally and follows it, but the red stays locked, this makes rotating the arm straight back and forward imposible. Here is is pic to hopefully better explain it :headbang:

The Heading control shouldnt move with the pitch, what you're experiencing is that fantastic thing we all love known as gimbal lock, this happens when a channel reaches +/- 90 degrees. Since you dont want to use IK to control the arms, my only suggestion is to be careful about the order in with you rotate the channels IK Booster has something called Quaternion Booster that can help with this but i don't know the specifics of it, perhaps someone more qualified will be able to step in...
