Default Female Model

Hi guys,

I've been lurking around these boards for the past year and I feel it is time to finally join in the action.

Here is a picture of my first decent model. I would appreciate any comments that you guys have. Her hair was done in 5 minutes so I know it needs a lot of work.

At the moment I am downloading the hands tutorial in order to make her a bit more complete.

Hope you like it

looks great for a simple cartoon female! nice work.

Hands can be tricky to get right so take your time and itll benefit you in the long run.

While her breasts dont seem overly large, i reckon for a person of her slim build they could still be cut back a little bit otherwise she'll have a very "3D female" look of being very busty.
Also, her skin is very plastic atm. I'm sure you havent got her prepared for final renders, but just letting you know.

Thanks for the reply.

I guess as I am very much still a lightwave newbie I'm still learning a lot of what works and what doesnt.

The character will probably end up looking pretty much like a 3d cartoon figure as that seems easier than aiming for photoreal at my present skill level.....unless I wanted to make photoreal plastic figures :p

The textures are only default colours atm with some specularity for me to see the curves and stuff.

I had real trouble modelling her breasts, I ended up welding half a sphere onto her chest then tweaking it till I had something a little more breats shape. I spent so long on it that my girlfriend started to feel a little jealous :p

Anyway back to the hands

Hmmm I guess I should have made the hand as a new object.

I tabbed over to layout and was greeted by this rather disturbing sight.

Hi again guys,

Wow, found motion designer today, so kinda got distracted from making the hand model.

Here's what I came up with today. Hope you like it.

Looking good so far. Breasts can be notoriously difficult to model (so can hands for that matter) but it looks like you've had a good go and if they're going to be covered up with the shirt anyway, then a basic shape would normally suffice. Keep up the good work. :p

Thanks,

I'm still working on her hands, just gotta get the palm stitched up and they'll be done.

It's amazing where philips' middle finger gets to when you aint watching it
