lets take a look
when you made your rig, you gave all of your bones a name right?
for example Right arm Right shoulder and so on. the reason i ask this is because when you switch to layout and try to select the right arm bone and didnt give it a name mathing the weight map you will get stuff happening like you are talking about. |

Merry Cristmas
Hi merry Christmas,
Problem is that his ears are far from bone and just increase the bone strength to reach the outer parts. Set head bones strength 10 000, disable deform, select head bone, hit r ( record rest position), select neck bone, hit r, enable deform. |

Hi LaMereHic,
-but how do you : Disable deform? I don't know your version but in lightwave 8 Setup/General/ Enable Deform -enable deform? Same thing -Set a bone strenth to more tan 100 % Select a bone hit p for properties. Under Bone Weight Map is Strenghth, you should find it right next to Use Weight Map Only checkbox. Type in 10000. and by the way my character eyes deform as i rotate how can I fix that? I saw your characters set up and I use different set up for eyes. As they are at separate layer make a new part out of them for further use(Modeler View/SelectionSets/ Create Part). Then make weight map from each of them and move them to same layer with skin. Go to LayOut and set bones and weight maps to them, remember record rest position, voila. You don't even have that annoying displacement now that tey are at same layer. |
