July/Aug - Noob - Sharp
thought id enter this, not done any lighting bfor so will b good for me to learn some new stuff.
and remember all the old stuff as iv been away for awhile. i think ill try like a odd looking scene of a forest, with a single rose growing in a pool of blood. |

iv tried to do some drawing and i cannot draw trees at all lol.
so to just get used to lightwave again and have a little play with lighting because iv never done any lighting i just made a quick image of the trees. the rose and blood is to go at the bottom middle part. with some stones and grass etc around the ground. the models are not the models i am going to use they are just a test. althought i like the texture so i will probably use that http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/8...elayout4vu.jpg Last edited by Sharp; 10-07-2005 at 09:05 PM. |

started on the main tree model.
i decided to go for all quads and low poly "ish", well im not goin to use sub devision. the head has been really hard to keep with quads only to get it to any degree of quality i might have to try box modeling it see if i can get it that way. http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/4...ntree016gp.jpg {edit} o yea and its 938quads without the head there. |

update.
may have to go back on saying i am going to only keep it as low poly quads as im thinking of doing a normal map to give some extra detail and smoothness. iam still going to do it all as quads tho mostly because the program i will use to make it only accepts quads which was why i was learning to do quads http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/3...ntree025cs.jpg |

Looks good so far Sharp!
I have one crit. however: the shoulder part of the woman/tree seems very odd to me... probably cuz of the way its bent. If you really look at your own shoulder, you can see that the 'bulge' of it should be on the top. Other than that, I like how its developing! |

thx zeeman i'll try and fix that later.
iv almost finished the base of the woman tree so i thought id try out an idea of putting a glowing orb above her head. here's afew pics of it. for some reason the glow of the orb never worked when i merged the scene with the background trees. i have decided to make a normal map for the tree so it is in subdevide as the normal map will smoot it all up and im going to scrap the idea of low poly althought im going to make it low first to add the normal map. http://img346.imageshack.us/img346/1...ngtests3tl.jpg [edit] (spelling mistakes) Last edited by Sharp; 13-07-2005 at 03:17 PM. |
