Hi there,
I'm wanting to create a terrain, with a muddy surface on the ground, is there any tutorials how to create this effect, realistic looking. If anyone could help me out, that would be great. Thanks edd1e |

Howdy!
I don't know of any tutorials - but you could use particles, not a lot, just a few, and apply hypervoxels to them. Use a surface based hypervoxel, set the color to brownish mud, and blend the hv's. The particles are easy to animate, and the hv will flow together.

Well, i would recommend the simple stuff, not hv. Try modelling the mud, turn on the sub-patch and then texture it using the proceduals and stuff. Turn on a hint of glossiness and spec. And use gradients and stuff for terrien change. There is like so much power in the standard texturing. I usually turn on Viper and then texture away. Keep at it. And post some results.

I´m a noob myself, but i think HV´s is the one of the easiest ways to it.
Of course there are more ways that lead to rome and you just have to find wich one is best for you ![]() |
