Not much progress tonight, Chaps. I've been working late so haven't had much modelling time. Anyway, here's a reworked shoulder pad - I think I'll be adding detail to the armour as well just to make it look a bit better.

@Roykyle8 - What kinds of tips are you looking for? Unfortunately this kind of modelling is a bit of trial and error in trying to figure out what works best or what looks good.

@Mr.Tickle - Yep, I hope we can see a lot of entries to this contest - the Strider model over at SimplyMaya looks very nice as does the Joust model, but here's to your First Samurai model too! As I say, he does look cute and you're a lot closer to completion than me.

@Bullet - Thanks mate, your own model is coming on nicely too considering you haven't been working on it too long.

Quick update - ill at the moment, so not doing much modelling. Armour redone as I thought the last one looked a bit naff.

Nice start on the gun. Armor looks great too. I would suggest to move some polygons of her breast. View the picture to see what i mean.

Hi Bullet - thanks for the suggestion, I didn't quite understand what you meant at first, but having re-read what you wrote, I now understand! I haven't made the update just yet, but I will take your suggestion on board for the next update! Sometimes when you've been staring at the same thing for too long, you just can't spot these things so thank you for that!

I'm really wanting to get modelling finished so I can spend the last month of this competition messing around with texturing and figuring out rendering. I may well have to get a few of the fine tutorials around here to figure out texturing better as this is my weak point.

I hated the tummy area of the armour, so I've started redoing that. I want this area to look flexible so at least the character looks as if she can move around, the midriff section is meant to look as if it has some level of flexibility although I'm not entirely sure I've achieved the look I was going for.

nice remodelling of the torso, and start to the blaster

I agree with bullet_evader about the breasts needing to be softened out a bit

Okay, adjusted the boobage - how does it look now? Also started pulling together the armour. It looks fairly rubbish at the back, but then I'm not going to be rendering the back.

Looking really good so far, body is coming along a treat! No real crits to make about anything except to repeat what other people have been saying and I'm sure you've been working on...the breasts! 3 points I'm going to make, none of which may be valid or useful...
1. The Armour appears to be metal or at least some kind of poly-carbonate which means it is unlikely to have the soft natural shape of normal breasts but rather a much more rounded solid one.
2. To avoid nasty chafing, I would imagine she has a decent amount of padding in there so they could probably afford to be a little bigger.
3. Given the rediculously male chauvanistic era this game was from they could probably afford to be even bigger (obviously this is a bit of a soft point as its entirely up to yourself if you want to go down that road)
Looking forward to seeing the progress (this was one of my fave scrollers!)
