Cheers for the comments guys, I do feel like I'm getting better with each character I build/rig - still obviously got a long way to go, but i'm beginning to use a much wider range of tools in ways I wouldn't have thought of before which is always nice.
Just to clear up on the Bruce-Jackie thing: The class that was for was Character Animation and as such we got virtually 0 credit for modelling or environment and so were greatly discouraged from spending too much time on these things - some people didn't even use their own models. I probably went a little OTT and as such the over-all animation suffered. I still did pretty well in terms of marks (got them back last week) but I've definitely learned a few lessons about sticking to what is required.

i think u need some nice eye lashes and roses cheeks, right now the model is nice, but it could be a wee boy with long hair LOL

Look at manga work to see the diference between boys and girls, the eyes the cornea and pupil should prob be smaller aswell, because of ur style the head is very gollum like, so u have to over exzagerate woman features to help get that across

Cheers Fraser, but I'm a big boy and don't need Manga to tell me the difference between boys and girls :p
The model is far far FAR from finished, there are no textures applied as yet and the iris/pupil set up it just a colouration of the polys until I paint up the real eyes.

P.S. She might be a 6 year old CG girl, but she'd still kick your ass if she heard you say she looked like Gollum!!

I'm in Uni and can't be bothered working so I've been messing about with cel shading, don't intend to use it but thought I'd post it anyway

Thats looking great Kris, love her little belly. Like your devil, as I can see he's all rigged up and raring to go. Unlike anything I've done.

WooHooo! Failure!

Yeah Pete, you're going to fail... very good!
BTW John was wondering if you'd be interested in doing the Dare To Be Digital competition this year, apparently theres some really good games programmers in the CGD coure this year...

P.S. You should start a thread, if anything it forces you to keep working on stuff or you end up looking like a slacker (especially compared to the man machine that is Fraser Davie!!!)

How about Boy Tuffet??

Curse you for making me do this by the way - if I get arrested for searching on 6 year old girls I'm taking you down with me!

No offence to any of these girls or their parents, but they all look like boys with girly hair - the major developmental differences in boys and girls don't really begin to show until a while later...

lol, i bet u sat there thinking, should i type this into google lol

I know what u mean, most do look alike and vise-versa, but u have the ability to change these features because its 3D after-all.

Somtimes following real-life isnt the best way, well not in 3D. U have to make it clear to the audience. A great example is disney, look at all the wee girls in their animations, and also check out toy story, just for hints.

I think lashes will change her dramatically, and i know u havent textured it yet

Great work thou, comin along a treat !!
