Excellent work Kris, yeah I'm the same, losing the will to model. Like you, I just want to get a move on with the animation. Mum looks excellent, no crits. She blends well with the other characters.
Suzie looks great with her hair down too. Keep going

Another group render for no real reason other than I felt like it - The mother is now fully rigged with basic morphs, will have to confirm camera placement before I decide if she needs a full compliment of speech morphs.
P.S. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: SCOTLAND! WHYYYY!!!! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: |

This last image is so excellent Kris. I've really enjoyed following your progress and hope you continue this project. If not, keep up the great work.

Cheers Zerobio, nice to know that someone outside my class is looking at this stuff I'm afraid I'm going to have to finish this project whether I like it or not as its the major component for me getting my honours degree! I have a little more environmental modelling to do which I'll hopefully finish by the middle of next week, then I can get the audio recorded and finally start animating!! :attn: 9 weeks and counting...

Very slow progress at the moment as I'm experimenting with using Motion Mixer but here are a few expressions now that Suzies all morphed up...

Ha Ha, thought I might get a comment or two on that one, I just cranked all the mouth morphs to max to see what she'd look like - mesh held together pretty well considering, she'll never actually look like that in the animation unless I decide that she has the capability to devour souls...
Should hopefully get down and dirty with the animation next week depending on how this weeks tests go with motion mixer, have done a few render tests and though I'll probably hand in a non-rad version, I might manage to get radiosity going for the end of year show (since theres over a month and a half inbetween) |

Hey Folks, realised I've been neglecting this thread a little so thought I'd post something, I'm trying to work out all my camera angles, etc before I start animating so I know exactly wha tI can get away with, finding it a bit disheartening that its becoming so sloppy, but with everything else thats happening I just dont have the time to devote to it...

looks really good Kris !
I know what u mean about time, i was thinkin about how much time we have left and when im goin to get round to doin the special effects animation ect.... it just makes u feel ill.... I guess now its all about time managment and u seem to be doin pretty well, i dont know how ur other classes are comin along, but this new render really looks nice and shows really nice emotion. Only small thing i noticed was the reflection of the wee girls eye in the mothers glasses, seem maybe a bit to much... Other than that. lookin great. Keep it goin ! |

cheers for the comments , its not reflection though, its refraction from the lenses so it has to be opaque, is probably cranked up a little high, but she is a bit of a magoo

Looks Nice ! Nice lighting and shadows.
Is that an Fprime render ? I think i'll need to use Fprime on some of my scenes for speed. Are u using Radiosity in your renders ? |

Like your lighting man, although the shadows are a bit off putting at parts. Try not to have the shadow of her own hand on herself, I think it may look better. And on that first image her shadow on the floor is a bit compressed, it'd look much more dramatic if it stretched out across the floor. And maybe have her mum's shadow looming over her. It may be good if you can fix those shadows without compromising the lighting in the rest of it. Otherwise, leave it because it's not that important.
