Default Rendering time

Hi there,

i have got lots of buildings with lots of polygons, but it is possible for me to merge some ploygons on the building, would this save render time?

Also what does Ray Recursion limit do? should i put the value of this down?

And finally what about Multithreading, what does this do?

thanks for any reply

Hi Edd,

your image will most likely render faster if you can lower the polygon count, try Construct->Reduce Polygons in modeller and see if that helps.

Ray Recursion Limit is the number of times the light will bounce of surfaces, it wont do much different unless you have reflective materials in your scene.

Multithreading is used if you have a multi processor machine.

hope this helps.

Matt

its really different from project to project..but I usually go for Enhanced Low or Enhanced Medium to get a little extra.. more than that is seldom needed..

When i'm rendering, the rendering status window, which displays what segments are getting rendered etc etc, is goes through a process which its applying vector blur, but i do not have any kind of blur in my animation, i even went to vector blur at set everything to 0, should i have to worry about this?

thanks
