first model - car
was gonna run the tutorial off newtek but thought id try it without the aid of a tutorial.
this is my first model that resembles a real item and has taken me over 20 houres so far.

Looks good. Can't see any obvious faults in the image, although the darkness of the surfacing could be hiding any artifacts.

as requested, not full wireframe but close, the wire frame is a little confusing, but i now have to build it in full wireframe view.

did simple reflection test...too strong and wont be attempting this again till i have finished the entire external car, including wheels.

doors and internals
this thread is getting too long ill make a quick web page up and stop with the posting already.
i have a question though..... im a little concerned at how many polys this is in a basic state (3697 poly) how many would you think i should limit it at if at all?

It all really depends on what you're going for. If you want realtime game like models then you're probably looking at 1500 - 5000 polys.
For Photoreal, then you're looking at as many as your machine can handle.... |

update, oppinions, todo list
thx for info, it appearss my new pc can handle lw well, tg for that
oh and im actualy gonna risk asking for some advice on making this look a little more real points i have to do yet: 1) put a rim around windows either black rubber or same as alloy disks. 2) add a logo to middle of grill 3) add small bull guard type protedtion to grill 4) add a logo to the alloy disks 5) re implement petrol cap 6) lights need colouring and bulbs adding 7) dash board and interior seats 8) external mirrors 9) internal mirror 10) underneath body work 11) and finally...fluffy dice
