Hi Buddies
This is my problem: I create a cone (for example) in Modeler – then rotate it say 30° on the ‘y’ axis. When the cone is sent to Layout the axis of the cone is perpendicular and not through the natural axis of the cone. Is it possible to change this????? I am giving this as an example – as the object I plan to construct in Modeler is much more complex and must rotate – on its natural axis. I hope that all makes sense…. thanks Keith PS I tried to attach a jpeg but I think my firewall stops it being sent!!!! |

Keef,
I think what you'll need to do is to model the parts you want to be offset in a layer on their own (in the un-rotated/offset position). Then you can apply a morph to them to place them in the final position. That way, when loading into Layout, simply attach morphmixer and crank the appropriate morph channel up to 100% - you should then have a correctly displaced object that moves with the correct orientations. Alternatively, you could also try rotating the pivot point of the layer to the correct offset - this might also work... |

Thanks Mark
I've downloaded a morphmixer tutorial (tank tracks) I'll see if that helps (I never get very far with the manual - written in American English). best Keith |

Thanks Mark
All sorted..... I first moved the object pivot - in Modeler. Send object to Layout. Set pivot angle - for Bank. THEN rotate (I was not doing this before and just expected the rotate to work - not realising I was still in pivot angle set-up!!!!). Happy again. Keith PS Going to enroll in American language classes, this summer 8-) |
