Default Help - Tower TUT from Inside LW 7

Hi, got a little problem with the tower tut in lightwave 7 book, im at the bit were i have to bevel the top of the tower to give it a rounded edge, ive done the 1st bit, were it asked to input

shift 1m
+/- 0m
Inset 0m
+/= 0m
New Surface unchecked
Edges inner,

this works fine, and i see the top polygon rise a bit, but when i move onto the next step it goes a bit strange like the pic below shows

the setting it wants inputed are

shift 1m
+/- 0m
Inset 1m
+/- 0m
New Surfaces unchecked
Edges Inner.

but it isnt workin, plz help

Hello Davie563,

I have completed this tutorial, and i must say wait till you get to the windows! you'll know what i mean when you get there.

As for you problem, the top polygon looks to be inverted and must be flipped (f key) go back a step and make sure the polygon is facing the right way (the yellow line in the center of the selected polygon should be facing out not in like it is in the picture) and try again.

This should solve the problem. Hope this helps.

here is an update, not been workin on t alot, but ive decided to start it again, so hopefully it will be done by some time next week

hi, here is an update, im up to modeling the railings that connect the to buildings, but for some reason i cant zoom in to look at them, the object is about 400mm in size, but once i zoom in past the point u c in the pic, it just dissapears, help

Try clicking one or two polys on the piece you want to zoom in and the type SHIFT-A to center just that area. I think that will work to help you.
