Default HDRI set

I have a question about the use of HDR images as reflect maps.
I have seen "the McLaren" and it looks awesome. My problem is that whenever i apply a hdr as reflect map or even as image world one side of the car is looking great and the other gets burned...and i get all kind of weird reflexions and burns in some places....now...i know there must be some trick to make the reflexions look great all over the car...just like phillip did on his McLaren...anyone knows of this and would like to share ?

I guess the problem is twofold. If parts of the image are getting too burned out, then you need to darken the HDR image somewhat - think of what happens when you look at a real car in bright sunlight - you get that very noticable bloom effect where the sunlight bounces directly off the car surface that seems to blow everything around it out of sight too. What you're seeing in your image is the same kind of effect.

As for the problem with the wierd reflections, then that could potentially be down to warping of the image that you've used. You need to ensure that the image is a properly created, seamless spherical map in order to use it correctly as a reflection map, otherwise you'll get seams and warping. By rotating the image slightly, you may be able to reduce these somewhat though.

ok...problem sloved....but other show up.....
Considering the same scene...there is like a satelite dish orientated upwards(concave) that is like 1 km in radius. This dish makes the hdr in the Image world not visible. I turned unseen by rays to the properties panel of the dish...i still get the shadow but i can partialy see the hdr ONLY trough the car's windows...check this out..
