Normal Grand Prize Winner - surfermcd @ SM!

Newbie Grand Prize Winner - Murph @ SM!

Congrats to you both!

Wow, that was HARD to decide. The vote was extremely close. But congrats surfermcd for edging your way to the front!

hey all
just wana say well done 2 the winners murph n surfermc.

i was just wonderin how did cyroz of simplylightwave not win i thought he showed effort, skill ( in all fields modelin, texturin in particular) and he even had 2 dinos it was amazing.

i wondered if there are as many monderates on Smaya as Slightwave, still no disrespect 2 the judges or the winners cuz i liked em both, - murph showed progress and surfermc was jsut like the concept and very realistic.
i aint bin a member very long but does lightwave ever win? or should i enter as a maya user, i have both packages!

thanks!

We've had a number of Lightwave winners, even a Lightwave sweep a time or two. SM tends to have more entries due to it's having been around the longest, so that's in SM's favor, but I think it's about even, percentage-wise.

As for Cryoz's entry, yeah, it was great, and as I said, the judging was very very VERY close.

The one I voted for didn't win. But that's the system we have at the moment.

Here's the winners from as far back as I can confirm the challenges became integrated. While SM tends to have more Normal winners, the winning is pretty even overall.

Jan/Feb

Grand Prize - Stormgetto (SM)
Normal - Frayo (SM)
Noob - kumar (SL)

Mar/Apr

Normal - Chrispo (SL)
Noobie - Jsprogg (SM)

May

Grand Prize: Dae (SL)
Normal: Chrispo (SL)
Newbie: Kumar (SL)

June

Grand Prize: cb8rwh (SM)
Normal: Dae (SM)
Newbie: Sandman300 (SL)

July

Normal: Mumbojumbo_13 (SM)
Newbie: Puppet (SL)

When it comes down to it, the package used has no bearing on who wins and who doesn't.

If the entry is deemed good enough on its own merits, then it will win - its as simple as that.

And Mike's right. This is probably the closest month we've had so far for the judging. It was all really close....
