How do you make a dog?
Hi Everyone….. I was wondering if you could help me… I need to create a photo realistic dog for a project of mine… The shots mostly concentrating on the head of the canine. I have attempted modelling this character but I’m finding it hard to get it right…Does anyone know any tutorials that would help me…

Ok,,, modelling is not everyones cup of tea... believe me,, i could not model at first,,, the key is lame,,, but,, you need to keep at it... If you tire of the subject,,, take a break,,, go model some cazy aliens or the PowerPuffGirls... then come back and reattempt the dog... Ok good reference is key. What i do is after collecting reference,, start sketching and do a front and side concept piece to work off... beats the actual photograph as you can draw lines and mussles to follow.
Ok by now i know you might have heard this a thousand times from others. Ok ok,,, so give me the answer...!!!!! Hehe.. ok,, my wepon has always been workflow. The faster yours is the better you will be in modelling... Ok,,, i turn off everything in modeller... only viewports.. can be seen,,, not to mention the panels on the right... Ok like phillips one... but no tools on the left or viewport titles. OK ok,,, i dont remember all the shortcuts... well most of them i am fine with... The others like mapping and others.... I redefine my Ctrl+Shift+ L / M / R mouse clicks.... menu... Oh ya... the newer tools like quicksaw,,, and select loop.. super shift and other tools.. have made my modelling a whole lot faster.... Yea... select loop and quicksaw is a whole lot faster on dense models than the bandsaw.... David Ikea stuff rocks... Ok think i have talked a little too much.. So start saving your work in increments and go back a version or so if you think you have done something wrong... well thats what i do,,, till this day... Good Luck and start posting your work so that it will be easier for others to help you. Kumar |
