Default When should the next lightwave version come out?

When do you think the next version of lightwave will come out? As in the next large update you have to pay for. When should lightwave 64 bit be out? Will it make a difference in rendering speed?

No doubt when its ready...

There is already a 64bit version of LW8 that is doing the rounds with several beta sites. As for when this is likely to hit the streets, your guess is as good as anyones...

So i'm a student, and I'm thinking of getting lightwave 8($250), are there any limitations to the student version? Is it the same exact thing just at a cheaper price? If I did get better and did a few jobs (small side ones) for other people would it be necesary to buy a full version, because I wouldn't be using it just for commercial stuff, but if I did a job or 2?

the student version is the same as the full commercial version.
the ONLY difference is that you can't make money with it.

Yep, as soon as you start selling your work, you're doing commercial stuff. That's when you'll need to buy the full version.

Then again, the price of LW is so low at the moment, a couple of paying jobs should more than cover the license cost.
