Angry Toomany skelegons

I was rigging a skeleton with skelegons(Ironic) when modeler became unstable and crashed. When I got it going again, I found I had too many skelegons and I haven't figured how to eleiminate the extra ones. I took it into layout and deleted the resulting bones then saved it, but when I switched to modeler, they were still there. I tried to merge points, but I don't see the extra skelegons. the info area indicates just one skelegon and in the skelegon tree it still shows the extras. I don't really want to start over, I was almost done. I've included the file. Is there a way to highlite in the skelegon tree the particular ones I need to deal with?
