Default A few site suggestions

I have a feeling that there needs to be some new life breathed into this forum if this is at all possible since some of what I see every day seems irrelevant:

Issues that potentially need addressing:
1. Admins - Apart from Mark, and perhaps the brief appearances of Johnny9ball and Digimatt from time to time, we don't really see any admins around and I have a feeling that its pretty much Mark who's running the day to day maintenance around here.
The Forums list site members as admins who haven't frequented here for a long time and I very much doubt they are active as admins. For example, Supercat looking after Lightwave basics - I can't even remember Supercat posting anything unless he's the type of person who works in the shadows....
M also seems to get mentions as mod for the challenges - shouldn't that be changed to Mike these days?
Philip, whilst he pops in now and again probably has left active duty on this forum now.
Kevin still gets a mention even though he's been gone for a while too.

2. Forums - Do we still need the Hostings forum open and is it still relevant and do we still need the forum for the t-shirt competition???

3. Some more announcements regarding site status when we had the server crash and getting it back on its feet would have been nice. I'm still in the dark as to whether its a good idea to order tutes or not.

4. Gallery is still down - no words of if and when this is going to be restored.

5. People still have no idea about the results of the last "official" competition.

I love this place in general. There are some real strengths about a small community rather than some of the larger ones where infighting seems to break out a lot, but I do think this place could do with a bit of a spring clean just to keep it up to date.

I agree, I noticed involvment has slipped quite a bit lately, in fact I've seen admins actually going and admin at other sites. Not a problem for me; but does that mean people are jumping ship ?

Actually, I was thinking; What would be a good suggestion to get the membership actually get involved with this site.

Perhaps a thread of the week with a suggestion of the best modeling/ lighting/ animation tips?

Perhaps a thread that takes a question or two and develops a mini - tute with discussions and suggestions?

Just wondering:p
