Question Rendered Animation Jumpy

Ok first off, i am very new to lightwave modeling and animation, but i did the blood cell tutorial, and decided to animate it with one bloodcell. Without the backdrop, the animation is fast, but when i add the backdrop, and it renders, i open the avi, and the avi is as slow as can be....what am i doing wrong ??? why would the video be jumpy?

You are probably rendering to an uncompressed ("raw") AVI file. This stores each frame without compression. Try using Cinepak, Indeo or another compressor of choice when you are rendering the animation.
