Default June - Noob - sandman300

I heard about this contest at the Newtek lightwave forums. So I thought I'd try it. I've never entered a contest before, and because I'm not sure if I could be still considered a noob or not (the program is IMHO huge, and there are still many areas that I havn't touched) so for now, I'll enter as a noob. If there is a overwhelming demand... Ill change to norm. Well here is my entery... or the beginings of it anyway.

The Weinerdog Cerebus.

Thanks for the welcome.
Sorry, it took me a little to get going, I should be able to update more frequently now. I ve been working o the smaller details so that I only had to do it once. I had had a little problem with some points that got scrambled, didnt notice them until I was studying the endomorphs.

Nice texture on the eye. I'd check to either make sure that all the polys are subpatched, or subdivide the mesh after you're done since there's some definite polygon edges visible around the edge of the eye.

make the teeth a little unevenly sized, it'll look more ferocious!

Man the dog seems so popular. Try making it different so that it stands out. Good Luck.

Thanks for the crit.

Mark: there's some definite polygon edges visible around the edge of the eye.

Right now Im letting it go like that, If I increase the Subpatch render level the poly edges dissappear, once I finish modeling I may do just what you suggest.

Zeeman: make the teeth a little unevenly sized, it'll look more ferocious!

Actually I was going for a more fluffy cuddelly Cerabus.:p

At this point, Im begining to think about how to texture the fur. I tried using SasLight but the model is apparently too complex. Anyone have any ideas?

Anyway, here is the latest update.

instead of sasquatch try using a plug-in called Velvet. I think it would give the same results as Dae's image. You can find the plug-in at Flay.com unless you already have it.
