Default How do I combine layers

How do I combine layers for multi-layered objects. How do i import the other parts into modeller. I thought i knew this but i guess i slept through it somewhere. Please help me

If you're simply wanting to combine the geometry into a single layer, then select the geometry you want to move, hit Ctrl-X to cut, swap to the layer on which its going and Ctrl-V to paste.
