July/Aug - nOOb - Zeeman
Hey guys!
:attn: I'm gonna break the ice here on SLW and hop into this competition! I'm no good with any sort of lighting and so this is gonna be something new for me to try out! Now I'm gonna try and make some kinda dark alley scene. I hope that's okay...? I'll post a concept sketch as soon as I get some ideas flowin'. Cheers. |

Hey Guys!
I've been out of town lately and I didn't get a chance to do much. However, there has been a little change of plans... I was at my grandma's house the other day (yes, that was where i was lol) and I figured that the stair case in her house that leaded to the second floor would be a perfect piece for this competition! :attn: So... I got down, made a lil sketch and changed some of the things to make the stairs look a lil more creepy. So anyhoo, here's what I'm gonna try and construct over the next little while... Cheers  |

Thanks guys!
Time for a 'lil update. Nothing too special, just a simple flight of stairs... it looks quite bland and there seems to be a little issue at the right edge of the stairs (although i think its only a shadow)... but again, its just some preliminary stuff... |

... and yet some more pieces of the scene... its the hand rails this time.
made it just this morning. I tried to give it a rickety look with some broken up etc. parts. C&C is always welcome. EDIT: I just noticed that there's also an issue with the curve of the design thingy on the left. |

Thnx a lot guys!
UPDATE TIME!!! :attn: I've been playing around with this thingy for a few days now and it turns out that I have to remodel the hand-rails to fit along the curve and angle of descent of the flight of stairs. :headbang: So I took a bit of a break from that craziness and just went along and tried out some test textures to use... I got a UV map and spent some time in Photoshop to make an old, crusty and stained texture for the stairs. Any C&C is always welcome. EDIT: Oh, and does anyone have an idea what's up with those dark parts at the edge of the stairs? I tried fixing it but it seems that they only turn up when insert the stairs into my special light rigs or use radiosity. Zee  Last edited by Zeeman; 13-07-2005 at 01:08 AM. |
